Aly Raisman was an American female gymnast who was captain for the US female Olympic gymnastics the 2012 Fierce Five team as well as in the year 2016. In 2016, she was part of the Final Five. In the 2012 Olympics she won gold on both the team floor and the individual events. The bronze medal was awarded by her balance bar. She became the only American to be awarded many Olympic medals. The 2016 Olympics included her winning gold in the team event, earning Gabby as well as Gabby the distinction of being the only Americans ever to have consecutive gold medals for a team. She also won two silver medals for the floor exercise and the individual all-around. She took a break of three years between the two Olympics from competing gymnastics. She also was one of the gold medal winning American squads at two World Championships. Aly began gymnastics lessons when she was just two years old and is a fan of exercises on the floor. Aly is a member of her favorite charity, the Uniting Against Lung Cancer organization to commemorate her grandmother who passed away from cancer. She is planning to pursue a career in fashion and would like to expand her signature line of leotards and socks later on. She's writing a book entitled Fierce which will come out in the coming months.
